Meet Tanner — Owner, Veteran Pavers & Outdoors
I served in the Marine Corps as a heavy equipment operator — grading, excavating, and compacting ground in South America, Afghanistan, and in Arizona alongside Border Patrol, stationed out of North Carolina.
That’s more relevant to your patio than it sounds. Most paver failures in Florida aren’t paver problems, they’re base problems. Sand shifts, the sub-base was never compacted properly, drainage was never planned for — and two summers later the patio dips in the middle and the joints open up. The part that decides whether your project lasts is the part that gets buried before you ever see it.
Base prep was my job in the Marine Corps before it was my business.
So we lay every paver by hand and build every base to standard, not to schedule. We handle patios, driveways, walkways, pool decks, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and pergolas across Jacksonville and all of Northeast Florida.
One tip while you’re collecting quotes: ask every contractor how they’re preparing the base. Then compare the answers.

Every paver we set is laid by hand. Every base we build is compacted properly, because in Florida sand the base is the whole job — it’s the part nobody sees and the only part that decides whether your patio still looks right in ten years. We serve Jacksonville and Northeast Florida with the same standard we were held to in uniform: do it right the first time, stand behind it, and don’t cut a corner you’d be ashamed to explain.

To be the contractor Northeast Florida homeowners name without hesitation when a neighbor asks who to trust — and to grow a crew of veterans who build things that stay built. We’re not trying to be the biggest paver company in Jacksonville. We’re trying to be the one whose work still looks right in twenty years.
